Sunny Arizona

The Commodores are currently on a three-week tour of the West Coast. For more information, visit our website.

The band enjoyed picture perfect Arizona weather yesterday afternoon! It was sunny and 70 degrees and a lot of us spent part of the afternoon outside enjoying the beautiful sunny day. Following a relaxing day, we arrived in Sun City West to perform at Beardsley Park, an outdoor pavilion. Well, as the evening progressed, the temperature dipped down into the low 50s. The audience wrapped themselves in blankets and the Commodores warmed them up with some hot big band jazz!

These last two performances were special for our fantastic lead trumpet player, Musician 1st Class Nick Cooper. He is from Phoenix, Ariz., and had many family and friends attending both this concert and the previous night's performance in Surprise, Ariz. While we are out on the road, it is great to see familiar faces. The band is really enjoying the mountains, spectacular scenery and amazing weather in Arizona. Today, we are off to Yuma, our final destination in Arizona.

Musician 1st Class Dave Perkel plays lead trombone in the Commodores.
