Our new bassoonist, Musician 1st Class Renee DeBoer, had one of the more unique homecomings of this year’s tour. The concert in Wisconsin Rapids did not occur at her college or university, but rather her high school alma mater! This was by pure coincidence, as DeBoer, a 1998 graduate of Lincoln High School, had not even reported to boot camp when this concert was booked months in advance.

Musician 1st Class Eric Brown, from La Porte, Texas, joined the Navy Band in April 2008. He earned a Bachelor of Music from Northwestern University in 2006. Prior to joining the Navy Band he was pursuing a Master of Music at the Cleveland Institute of Music.
