Candy Bars

Tonight was our second concert of the tour and the band is really sounding fantastic! We had about an hour bus drive through beautiful Pennsylvania to our concert in Hershey, Pa. The concert was met with a lot of enthusiasm and excitement from the crowd; Hershey High School was such a great place to have a concert. After the concert was over, our tour sponsor gave us a ton of Hershey candy bars!

One of my favorite parts of performing on tour is getting to talk to the audience members once the concert is done; you never know who you are going to meet. Tonight I had the pleasure of speaking with a gentleman who was 93 and had served in the Army during World War II. He fought at the invasion of Normandy and many other battles during the war. He also had a brother who served in the Pacific theatre, just as my grandfather had. He attended the concert with his wife and the rest of his family, all the way down to his granddaughter! It was great to meet him and his family.  We discovered that we had much in common.

Next up we are heading to New York, but we'll be back to Pennsylvania at the end of the tour!

Musician 1st Class Jeremy Buckler plays trombone in the Concert Band.

93-years-old-what an honor!! You're doing an awesome job. Hope the rest of the tour is just as impactful.
